Teen Volunteer Spotlight- Emily Cable

WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO BE INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY?
My inspiration to start becoming involved with volunteering came from my family. Members of my family have been volunteering for many years. I've watched how great my mom and sister have felt from being involved with the community which has inspired me to become a part of that. Now that I am involved, my inspiration comes from the people and the organizations that I help and know that a little bit of work can go a long way.

ABOUT ME
I am 16 years old and a junior at Stevens Point Area Senior High.  I am part of the SPASH cross country team, NHS, and I play the violin in the orchestra.  My favorite and most rewarding volunteer experience I had was volunteering in numerous shelters in Milwaukee, including homeless shelters, food pantries and women/children shelters.  I was a wonderful experience that I will never forget.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ANYTHING IN PORTAGE COUNTY, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
If I could change one thing in Portage County, I would have to change the fact that we are in lack of Olive Garden and Red Lobster Restaurants.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ANYTHING IN THE WORLD, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
If I could change anything in the world, I would eliminate homelessness and make sure that everyone has a place that they can go to.
